We’re an organization
In 2018, a group of parents, educators, policymakers, elected officials and community leaders joined together to demand positive improvement and success for all schools and students in Charleston. The goal of the Coalition is to spark real and lasting change – to build common ground and rally the community to improve our public schools and bring more opportunities to every K-12 student in the Lowcountry. Originally formed to support strong leaders to join the Charleston School Board and advance an innovative agenda for change, the Coalition has evolved to focus on four pillars that drive its policy and advocacy work – advancing measurable growth in foundational skills of reading and math, creating opportunities for all Charleston kids to receive an exceptional education, investing in leadership and talent in our schools, and informing the community on promising new ideas to ensure every child’s success.
